Shotton Steel 2nds 25 Colwyn Bay 2nds 6

Shotton Steel 2nds saw off the challenge of Colwyn Bay on a remarkably resilient Dee Park pitch despite the recent bad weather. Bay took the initiative with a penalty in the first minute but Shotton soon got into their stride with a strong breakaway try from Ben Cormack evading the clutches of the Bay defence. This was soon followed up by Shotton's skipper, Mark Higgins who chased up a kick on to score under the posts. Bay slotted another pen taking the teams to the break with Shotton holding a 10 point to 6 advantage. It was more of the same after the break with another strong run from Cormack seeing him crash over in the corner after good set up work from the Shotton pack. Sam Wilding was the next over the whitewash after brilliant pick and go work from Martin Harvey and Kevin Rawlinson. Tom Picken capped off the 5 try haul to seal a comfortable 25 to 6 victory keeping the team at the top of their division.
