Bonus Point Win For Steelmen

Shotton 38 Welshpool 14

‘Bonus Point Win For Dominant Steel’

Shotton claimed a well deserved victory against a very competitive Weshpool side at Rowleys Drive.
Shotton were caught napping in the early exchanges and Welshpool broke free for a converted try but were soon back on level terms when a strong run from centre John Ketland drew the travelling defence releasing Roy Cardus for the first of his brace of tries.
The ‘Dam Burst’ for Welshpool as Full Back Darren Rees ran in two of his eventual three tries and Scrum Half Adam Lynskey showing his strength and class to cross the whitewash despite the close attention of the opposition defence.
Welshpool started the second half in the same manner as the first with a quick converted try.
This was soon negated when Winger Roy Cardus broke through with an elusive run to score under the posts. All the extras were added from the Boot of in-from Centre Craig Higgins.
Rees’s hatrick was complete when elusive Back Row Shaun Kemp once again distracted the Welshpool back line to release the on fire Man Of The Match.
